Two new Christmas songs available online

The Innocence Mission and the duo of Don Peris and David Schelzel have each released a new Christmas recording for streaming. The first track is "The King Shall Come When Morning Dawns" and the second "I Wonder As I Wander". You can stream "The King Shall Come When Morning Dawns" here and "I Wonder As I Wander" here.

Surprise performance sighting

On November 22nd, Karen and Don Peris performed during the encore of the Ocean Blue's show at the Chameleon Club in Lancaster, PA. The song performed was a cover of "I'll Be Your Mirror" by The Velvet Underground. You can see the clip below.

Mike Bitts and Don Peris to perform live

David Schelzel (The Ocean Blue) and Don Peris have recorded a new Christmas demo, "Walking In The Air" and is available in our downloads section.

In 2005, the duo recorded "O Holy Night" and years later in 2010 they recorded "The Angel Gabriel From Heaven Came".

Ebay auction alert - Fender Stratocaster guitar for sale

There's a 1962 re-issue Fender Stratocaster guitar that's up for auction on Ebay. The owner claims it was once owned by Don Peris. No supporting photos or documentation have been supplied in the auction, so bid with caution if bidding as memorabilia.

Interestingly enough, it resembles a bass that Mike and Karen used on tour.

Peris, however, spent five or six years collecting material for the album, "Brighter Visions Beam Afar," which was released this fall."

Don Peris releases Christmas album

Available now at the band's webshop, Innocence Mission guitarist Don Peris has released his third solo album, Brighter Visions Beam Afar.

According to DonPeris.com, the album contains "a quiet instrumental offering of Christmas hymns arranged for solo guitar and gently performed by Don Peris. A portion of your purchase will be donated to benefit those in need of warmth and shelter throughout the Winter."

His label Jemez Mountain will also release the album via digital download sites, such as iTunes, eMusic and Rhapsody in November.

This past April Burnt Toast Vinyl reissued Denison Witmer's debut, Safe Away, on vinyl. Safe Away was produced by Don Peris in 1997. Go to BTV for more info about this release.
