In the Bathtub of the World

Have any of you seen Caveh Zahedi's film In the Bathtub of the World? It's essentially a video diary -- an edited and condensed year in his life. Midway through the film, he buys a copy of Birds of My Neighborhood, plays "Snow," and talks about how much he loves the album. "Snow" comes back a few more times in the film and is played in full over the closing titles.

Befriended Bonus Tracks

I learned last week that there's a distinction between the Taiwan version (released by Avant Garden) of Befriended and the Japanese version (released by P-Vine). The Taiwan version comes with "500 Miles" and the Japanese version comes with "The Way You Know" with the Taiwan version being a bit more difficult to find.

MTV Video Spotlight

Seems like the Innocence Mission is a popular upload lately on Youtube.com. Here's the MTV Spotlight from 1989. Just as a sidenote, this was the video that introduced me to the band and their music. I've been a fan ever since MTV originally aired the spot.

New Album Exclusive: The new title is....

Here's Imdiscog.com's first exclusive...the album will be called We Walked in Song and it will be available through Badman Recording Co in February, and in stores March 13th.

The album cover will be unveiled on badmanrecordingco.com sometime in the new year. Stay tuned.. We'll have more information on the new album for you sometime in January.

Last year, Don Peris released a free download of "A Hymn For Christmas Day" on his MySpace page. This year, Don has re-released it once again for free. The lyrics have been added to the Other page.

Cassettes may be obsolete...

The Innocence Mission's debut self-titled A&M album was released in Taiwan. Here's a picture as proof.



There's bound to be a Taiwan CD and perhaps even a 12" of the debut record. If you have proof of this, be sure to let us know. According to the seller on E-bay, this isn't a Japanese release, although it was released through A&M/Polygram.

A live recording of Don Peris' "Flyer" now appears on Refractions: The Echoes Living Room Concerts Volume 12. Also appearing on the track is fellow Innocence Mission member Mike Bitts and good friend Denison Witmer.

New album update

This just in from Badman Recording Co.:

"The innocence mission are finishing up a brand new album in their hometown of Lancaster, PA. The album is scheduled for a March 13th street date. Check back in early 2007, as we will offer copies of the CD in February."

Nissan "7 Days In A Sentra" campaign

If you've not seen the latest Nissan commercials, you may want to check out Marc Horowitz's blog (DEAD LINK REMOVED). It turns out that he's not only the spokesman in the commercials, but he's also a fan of the Innocence Mission. If you visit the link above, you can also download a free copy of "Martha Avenue Love Song{".

It doesn't appear that the track is on any of the actual commercials, but there's an article about the advertising campaign at Adland.
