2008 Imdiscog.com Annual Fundraiser

You may have noticed here on the main news page that there's a Paypal link. Of course, you may not have because it's kind of off to the side of the frame and down a ways. Anyway, it's not free running a website like this and because this is not a commercial site, I'm not making a dime.

But with the cost of webhosting and software upgrades, we're dependent on either my pocketbook or yours to keep this site running. So with that in mind...here's how you can help out.

For the Top donation received (of $10 or more) by October 31st, I'll send a free Small Planes promotional photo courtesy of WhatAreRecords.com.

These photos aren't available any longer, and you probably won't find these on Ebay very often. Click the donate icon below to read the disclaimer and find out how you can donate to Imdiscog.com and also see the operational costs for the last several years.

Indie film "Quick Feet, Soft Hands" screening

Quick Feet, Soft Hands, a film by Roanoke, VA filmmaker Paul Harrill (Lovell Films) will debut in Knoxville on September 11th (7:30 pm) at the Regal Downtown West Cinema 8. Cost: $5.

The 25 minute film follows a young couple in their pursuit of the American Dream. Greta Gerwig (Joe Swanberg's Hannah Takes the Stairs) stars as Lisa, a young woman whose hopes of moving up are tied to Jim (Jason Von Stein), a minor league ballplayer. As Jim falls deeper into a batting slump, Lisa must face the day-to-day realities of being young and poor. And she must confront the prospect that they may never make it to the big leagues. Co-produced by the Independent Television Service (ITVS), Quick Feet, Soft Hands is the latest work by Paul Harrill (Sundance Jury Prize winner, Gina, An Actress, Age 29).

According to the online press kit, the film's lone music cue is the Innocence Mission's "Beautiful Change". You can view the trailer by clicking the image below.

There's a 1962 re-issue Fender Stratocaster guitar that's up for auction on Ebay. The owner claims it was once owned by Don Peris. No supporting photos or documentation have been supplied in the auction, so bid with caution if bidding as memorabilia.

Interestingly enough, it resembles a bass that Mike and Karen used on tour.

Videos of "The Lakes of Canada" on YouTube

In this year's first YouTube report you'll find Heyroro's fan version of "Happy, The End". The project was created at a New York Film Academy digital filmmaking course in London 2003 . Secondly, one of two MTV's 120 Minute interviews uploaded by Postingoldtapes. And lastly, there are two more live covers of "The Lakes of Canada" by Unusuality and Mgjohnsonstudios. My guess is that the Sufjan Stevens cover continues to be quite popular with the YouTube crowd. What do you think? Leave a comment and be sure to click the images below for the video links.
